Summer Flew By — And Fall Is Already Here in Winnipeg

As I sit down to write this, I can hardly believe it: summer is over.

This past season has been a whirlwind — the busiest I’ve ever had since starting my photography business. I photographed 10 weddings this summer (a personal best!) and had the absolute joy of capturing love, laughter, and unforgettable moments for so many incredible couples and families.

And while I’m beyond grateful for the trust you’ve all placed in me — I have to admit, it feels like I blinked and suddenly, fall is here.

Not creeping in, either. It’s already chilly. The mornings are crisp, the wind has that unmistakable bite, and I’m reaching for my sweaters and extra coffee earlier than expected.

🍁 The Leaves Are Turning — And So Are the Seasons

If you’ve stepped outside lately, you’ve probably noticed what I have: the leaves are already starting to change.

It feels early this year — but maybe it’s not just the weather. Maybe it’s everything moving a little too fast. Summer comes and goes in a blur, and fall always seems to sneak in before we’re ready for it. But if you’re anything like me, you’re already noticing how fast the time is going… especially when you look at your kids.

📏 Look How Much They've Grown

It hits me every fall: how much children change in just one year. A new grade, a new backpack, new shoes… maybe a new attitude, too. 😉

But underneath it all, they’re still your babies. Just taller, with stories from school and personalities that are growing just as quickly as their shoe size. These years go by in a flash, and you only get so many autumns with them while they’re still little.

That’s why fall family photos mean so much.

They’re not just about pretty leaves (though we love those too) — they’re about pausing life for just a moment to capture who your family is right now. The missing teeth, the new freckles, the way your child still reaches for your hand without thinking.

You’ll never regret taking the time to remember those things.

⏳ Don’t Wait — Fall Won’t

Here in Winnipeg, we all know fall is short-lived. The colors come fast, and they fade even faster — especially with how cold it’s already getting this year.

I want to gently remind you: fall photo sessions are already booking up quickly, and once those prime autumn weeks are gone… they’re gone.

I know life is busy right now. Back-to-school routines, work deadlines, sports practices — I get it. But those beautiful fall days where the sun hits just right and the leaves are glowing? There’s only a handful of them.

If you’ve been meaning to schedule your family photos, this is your sign to do it.

❤️ Let’s Make Some Magic

Whether we’ve worked together before or this would be your first session with me — I’d be honoured to help you capture the beauty of your family this fall.

You don’t need the perfect outfits. You don’t need a Pinterest-worthy plan. You just need to show up, be present, and let me do the rest. We'll laugh, play, maybe snuggle under a blanket — and together, we’ll create something real and lasting.

These are the moments that matter. Let’s hold onto them — before they fall away.
